Santa House was started 20 years ago through the Worcester County Maryland Sheriff's Office with the primary purpose of providing Christmas for needy families in the County since 1993. Santa House has served 8,774 families which represents 19,315 children and 699 elderly residents. Donated operational space is no longer available, therefore, a 501(c)3 Building Fund has been established at Taylor B. Bank with the hope the program can continue in the future.
Santa House, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) corporation. The purpose is to provide Christmas assistance for needy families in Worcester County, Maryland. In order to provide help during the 2015 holiday season Santa House needs to find and secure space for the day-to-day operation of the program.
Thanks to Atlantic General Hospital and a group of dedicated volunteers, Santa House provided help to 513 families and elderly residents in 2014. Thanks also to the Ocean City Police Department, the Showell Fire Department, Snow Hill Lions Club and the City of Pocomoke. By providing distribution points, they were a major part of the success this year. Also, thank you to the businesses, clubs, churches and citizens for their support. A special thanks to law firm of J. Harrison Phillips, III, P.C. for its legal advice and to Roy Frick, Accountant, for his guidance and advice.
Currently, the Board of Directors is asking for help from the community to raise funds to continue its purpose to provide Christmas assistance for the needy in the county by raising funds to purchase a building. A Building Fund account has been established at Taylor B Bank. Donate electronically or by mail. Send checks to: Santa House, Inc., P. O. Box 14, Snow Hill, MD 21683.
Anyone aware of potential space for Santa House is asked to call 443-944-2011.
